Which came first the chicken or the egg? Who cares? We love them both, but today is National Egg Day, so we are giving the egg its due. That tiny compact little orb packs a powerful punch. Each egg provides 7 grams of protein, tons of vitamin D and has just 75 calories.
National Egg Day is an ancient tradition that dates back to 54 A.D. when Emporer Claudies Nero declared the third day of June as the Holy Roman Day of Eggs. Although the tradition died out, it was resurrected by Napoleon Bonaparte and has been celebrated ever since.
Everyone here at Gunther Toody’s every day is Egg Day, which may explain why eggs can be found all over our menu for breakfast lunch or dinner. From French Toast to Chicken Fried Steak we will add an egg to just about anything. Of course, every weekday, you can indulge in our Big Bopper Breakfast with 2 eggs, hashbrowns, choice of bacon, ham, sausage, or Polish sausage and your choice of toast for only $3.49.
So let’s get cracking…come join us in celebrating “the incredible, edible egg”!
